Questions

Why a monthly plan and not a one-time fee?

Most proposals are planned 2 to 4 weeks ahead and the forecast changes every day. Your month covers the daily re-checks right up to the day. Cancel when you're engaged.

How exact is the time?

Sun times are calculated for your pin to the minute and checked against a public sunrise-sunset service. Hills and tall buildings can hide the sun earlier, so the plan tells you how high the sun is at your minute and which way to look for open sky.

Where does the weather come from?

From a public weather forecast service, up to 16 days ahead. Farther out, we show how often it has rained on that date in past years and say clearly it is history, not a forecast.

Will my partner see anything?

Only if they see your email. The plan link has no name on it, and it's private unless you share it.

I'm a proposal photographer. Can I use it?

Yes. One plan holds as many spots and dates as you need, and you can send each client their own link.

Why 20 minutes before sunset?

Proposal photographers aim the question about 20 minutes before sunset, while the sun is still low and warm and there's time for photos after. Your plan puts the question there, and keeps it inside the golden light.

What's free?

The golden minute for any spot and date, always. The full plan (the weather for each day, the backup day, the stand point, the daily re-checks and the photographer's link) is free for 7 days, with no card, then $15 a month.

What you get

  1. The golden minute, free

For any spot and date: the minute to ask, sunset or sunrise, the golden light and the blue hour.

  2. The map

The sun's direction at your minute, which way your partner faces, and where the photographer stands.

  3. Weather odds, every day

Rain chance and cloud at the golden minute for every date you're considering, re-checked each morning.

  4. The backup day

Picked for you, with the reason in plain words, and an email when the best day moves.

  5. One link for your photographer

No names on it, nothing for your partner to find.
